Offshore Oil Jobs was set up by an experienced oil and gas and construction worker. Hey everyone, I am Eddie Johnson and I built this website in order to share my offshore experiences and help folks who are looking for offshore oil rig jobs.

I soon got the travelling bug and moved away from the North East of England and ventured around the world contracting in heavy engineering and oil and gas work.
My travelling took me to Germany, Canada, Russia, the Shetland islands but to name a few places, but strangely enough I ended up working offshore on the oil rigs for nearly 20 years.
I saw a lot of the North Sea and served on many of the barges and oil rigs offshore to the Scotish coast.
I was pretty lucky as I got a start offshore pretty easy, I guess I was good at my job and guys who I had worked with or who had heard of me through friends of friends got me a start. As soon as I got a start offshore I enjoyed it straight away.
My rota was generally 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, I was well paid for what I did and it helped me set myself up if you like, but it was all down to my past history and knowing people in the right places, when you know that you tend to also know when the jobs are coming off and how to get on them first.
Since I retired I still get phone calls to this day asking if I want a start offshore, hopefully some of the tips and real life experiences will help people understand if offshore oil rig work is for them or not, and of course, if you know where to go you are ahead of the crowd.
